Following a coveted international career in Information Technology, Hugo joins Etch Real Estate as founding partner, Company Director and licensed Real Estate Agent. With over 20-yrs of business development experience he brings a reputation for achieving record sales and implementing effective global strategies.

His real estate career spans more than $200,000,000 in Northern Beaches property transactions which includes several street records and accolades for Australian Sales Campaign of the Year in 2019 and Game Changer of the Year in 2018 as industry finalist.

Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) 2006 – 2017 (11 consecutive years): for more than a decade Microsoft has recognised Hugo Ortega as an exceptional, independent community leader who shares his passion, technical expertise and real-world knowledge of Microsoft products with others globally.

Community:

Hugo has held the position of Vice President of the Parents and Citizens Association at Balgowlah Heights Public School among other community roles. As a semi-professional basketball player he has since coached several men’s representative basketball teams across Sydney.

More recently Hugo has placed his volunteering efforts into Hope for Ollie, raising funds and awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy‎ (DMD).

From 1999 – 2001, as part of the peace keeping process in post-war Kosovo, Hugo and Luljeta participated in the United Nations Volunteer Program (UNVP), a UN organization that contributed to peace and social stabilization in the region. Tasks during this period included: logistics management in displaced-persons refugee camps, fundraising and more.
