I’ve been going to the same salon for more than 10 years. It’s one of the major perks of living on the Northern Beaches – knowing the people you interact with on a daily basis and building a relationship with everyone, from your local grocer to the person who cuts your hair. So it was exciting when Emma and her team recently took over operations of Evolve, a salon in Seaforth I’ve been going to for several years.

In this video, I take a few minutes and speak with Emma about them coming on board at Evolve Hair (also see this Facebook Page) in February of this last year. Just a few weeks after coming on, they performed a comprehensive remodel of the space as well, one during which Emma describes herself actively involved for 18 hours a day. It’s refreshing to see someone come into the community who knows and has been part of the Northern Beaches for some time with such vigor and attention to the existing customers.

Emma has been operating a salon on the beach directly for several years as well called Fringe, making Evolve her second space. Because of its central location and because it has been a part of the community for 20 years, Evolve has a very loyal customer base that hasn’t diminished in the slightest with the onboarding of a new team and new ownership this last year. Her strong background in running a salon, quick remodel and update of the space and willingness to actively engage with the local patronage, has already made her a part of the community.

Evolve Hair is open from Tuesday-Saturday each week with varying hours each day. You can see their hours on their Facebook Page here, or you can call to make an appointment and discuss your next trip in. Located on Sydney Road in Seaforth, there is ample lot parking and a courteous staff there ready to take your call.
