Vendor Testimonial: Lucy and Frank Machart – Balgowlah Heights

“Hugo and Luljeta really stepped up and took charge, making the enormous process of selling two houses and buying one in a couple of months seem easy. They are kind, sensitive, honest and decent people, all those things you wouldn’t expect of real estate agents.”

My husband’s family were hard-working refugees who had escaped communist Czechoslovakia to build a safe and free life for their family in Australia, from nothing. When my mother-in-law passed away last year, it was a very difficult decision for my husband to sell her home at 32 Monash Crescent Clontarf. The home represented the pinnacle of his parents’ long working life and their determination to build a legacy for their children and grandchildren.

We heard about Etch through friends, and from the beginning, Hugo and Luljeta were very sensitive to our emotional connection to the home. Their honesty, openness and level of vulnerability was genuine. They made us feel completely at ease, and we trusted their advice completely, including throughout the process of making changes to the older style home to maximise the asset Frank’s family had worked so hard for.

Hugo and Luljeta managed the sale sensitively and expertly through a time of emotional upheaval for us, organising all the trades and furniture moving. It was a seamless process. They sold the home off-market while doing all the improvements, negotiating the sale to our advantage. The result was excellent, and it was thrilling for Frank to think that this was his family’s legacy.

Frank was concerned to “not lose a cent” of the money we had made from the sale, and we decided to invest back into a family home at 1 Lewis Street Balgowlah Heights. At that time, I wasn’t quite ready to leave our home where we had raised our children, but to our surprise, we found a beautiful house nearby and were fortunate to purchase it at auction.

In the space of a few months, we had sold one house, bought 46 Beatty Street in Balgowlah Heights, and were now in the process of selling our family home. Hugo and Luljeta really stepped up. They handled everything with the utmost sensitivity and care.

Again, we trusted them to make improvements to the house and manage all the tradespeople. For this to happen, we moved back into my mother-in-law’s house while we waited for her home to settle.

I felt like I was in the driver’s seat with the sale of both the houses. Hugo and Luljeta were honest, transparent and had so much integrity. I knew they had our best interest at heart, and I felt I could make wise decisions on the information and advice they provided throughout the sales process. Our house was only on the market for ten days when Hugo negotiated a fabulous price to our advantage.

Hugo and Luljeta are absolutely amazing, and they have such an efficient and fabulous team. During this period, we also had our son’s wedding. Incredibly, they managed to move us out of my mother-in-law’s home and back to our home in the three days following the sale of our house so that we could go away to the wedding knowing that we would be ready for settlement on our return. I was extremely grateful that the anticipated stress from so many “moving parts” never arrived.

Hugo and Luljeta organised everything for us professionally and seamlessly, making the enormous process of selling two houses and buying one in a couple of months seem easy. They are kind, sensitive, honest, hard-working and decent people, and I absolutely recommend them to anyone who will listen!
