Etch had sold a house a couple of doors down from our property, so I gave them a call to see what price they got for it. It was a great sale price, so I asked if we could grab a coffee.

We were selling a property off the plan, and I’d been looking at several real estate agents, but I found Hugo hungrier for our business. He wanted our business more than any other agent, and we really liked that. We thought if you want our business that much, you can have a crack at it.

The property was a third of the way built, and we’d already had 3D renders done, so Hugo invested a lot of time in understanding what the vision for the property was, the benefits and where the rooms were going to be. He had to match the floorplan with what we had in the renders because he had to be able to explain it clearly to the buyers.

One day, Hugo even helped us clean the site up, making it more presentable because he had buyers coming through. We were really impressed by this – you don’t often get other agents willing to do that.

The sale process was quick. We never really used the brochures as Hugo sold the house within four or five days. The interested party wanted to act quickly, and their offer was very strong, and given the complexity of selling off the plan, we were happy to take it. And because we’re in the early stages of construction, the new owner can customise aspects of the build, so Hugo is hosting a meeting to do that at their new office, which is great.

Hugo is a nice guy and easy to talk to, but his hunger for our business made us decide to work with him. He was willing to do what he had to do to get the house sold for the best price.
